12 Days Safari 11 Nights Route

DAY OF ARRIVAL
Upon arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by an Pishon Tours representative who will transfer you to your hotel. There, you will be given time to settle in before a meet and greet with your safari guide. In this meeting we will brief you on what to expect during the safari and answer any last minute questions you may have.
Day 1:Arusha National Park
Your safari begins with a day trip to the Arusha National Park just a short drive from your hotel and home to the Ngurdoto Crater. Today you will have the opportunity to see the Colobus Monkey as well as many of Tanzania’s birds. The park offers it’s visitors additional activities that you will need to book in advance such as a canoeing trip on Lake Momella.

Day 2:Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast your safari guide will arrive at the hotel and drive the 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park. The Tarangire National Park receives its name from the major water source for the wildlife who reside within the park, the Tarangire River. During today’s drive you will have the chance to see giraffes, elephants, lions, antelopes, leopards, zebra’s, warthogs, buffaloes and an extensive collection of exotic birds*. Baobab trees, known as the tree of life, can be seen throughout the park and especially along the Tarangire River.

Day 3:Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast your safari journey continues as you leave Tarangire National Park and drive towards Lake Manyara Nation Park. Lake Manyara is located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley and it’s landscape is made up of a large shallow soda lake (alkaline lake) that attracts large flocks of flamingos. During today’s drive you will have the chance to see Manyara’s famous tree climbing lions, elephants and flamingos.*

Day 4:Lake Manyara National Park to Lake Eyasi
After breakfast you continue to Lake Eyasi. Here you will have the opportunity to meet members from the Hadzabe and Datoga Tribe. The tribal members will introduce you to their way of living and give you a tour of their lands.
During this visit Omura recommends that you wear enclosed footwear and long pants to protect your leg from the bushes.

Day 5:Lake Eyasi to Ngorongoro National Park
Your safari continues today as you depart the Lake Manyara National Park and drive to Ngorongoro National Park. During today’s drive you will experience a picturesque caldera with the most abundant wildlife. After a lunch break, your will descend down into the Ngorongoro Crater where you will enjoy amazing views and get up close with the craters residents. Today you will have the chance to see Africa’s Big Five*.

Day 6:Ngorongoro National Park to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you continue towards Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti National Park is famously known for its vast plains that have become the heart of Tanzanian safaris. During today’s drive you will have the chance to see cheetahs, lions, giraffes, elephants along with a variety of Tanzanian birds.*

Day 7:Serengeti National Park
After breakfast your Serengeti experience continues as your guide will take you to Seronera, located in the center of the park. Here you will experience one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source and attracts a large variety of wildlife.

Day 8:Serengeti National Park
Today you will get to experience the natural beauty of the Serengeti. You will have a chance to see zebras, wilderbeests, giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetas, leopards and hippopotamus’.* After a lunch break your game drive will continue into the afternoon where your guide will endeavour to get you close to the Serengeti wildlife. As evening sets in you will be returned to your accommodation where you will be served dinner and can settle in for the night.

Day 9:Serengeti National Park
Today you will experience the northern area of the Serengeti park where you will have the chance to view the wildlife in a more remote area of the Serengeti. Depending on the time of year you may also have the chance to witness the Great Migration, an event that has made the Serengeti very popular.**

Day 10:Serengeti National Park to Lake Natron
After breakfast you will begin the drive to Lake Natron experiencing one last game drive within the Serengeti park with a picnic lunch to break up the drive.
You will be driven to your accommodation location where you will be served dinner and can settle in for the night.

Day 11:Lake Natron to Arusha
Today you will have the opportunity to visit the Engero Sero waterfalls before returning to Arusha. Lake Natron is a mineral-rich soda lake in northern Tanzania, at the border with Kenya. It’s a breeding ground for hundreds of thousands of lesser flamingos, despite the highly alkaline state of the striking red waters. It sits below Ol Doinyo Lengai, a soaring active volcano in the Rift Valley. After spending time at the waterfall you will begin the drive back to Arusha and return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 12 (optional special inclusion)
Day trip to Mandara Hut on Mount Kilimanjaro
Today you will be driven to Marangu Gate (1,830m) an entry point for Mount Kilimanjaro. The gate is located just outside of Marangu village that is surrounded by banana and coffee plantations. You will be accompanied by an Pishon Tours mountain guide as you trek your way up to Marangu Falls. Once you have reached your destination you will have the option to continue walking up to Mandara Hut (2,700m) or return back to Arusha.

LAST DAY
After breakfast a vehicle will transfer you to your next destination. If you have additional time we recommend you extend your stay with a relaxing beach trip to Zanzibar.
